Help! I have been requested to write an after dinner speech about "The Blues" - not necessarily the music. But I have absolutely no idea on how to go about writing it, that's to say being witty, engaging the audience etc... Any public speakers out there with a few tips?Everybody has got the blues to some degree. Whether it be a lost love, a regret or a certain amount of stress. The blues are always associated with something bad, but If you look at it carefully. Real carefully. It is someones life. Something that describes what is going on in their life. The blues, jazz and soul are different than any other music. It is a special lifestyle, not just music. It is uninterpreted. It doesn't just mean what is on the musician's mind but all the listener's minds as well. It means whatever you want it to mean. Just like a cool breeze, you take it the way you want to take it. In the lifestyle your actions don't just display your emotions, but brings out others emotions as well. Inner happiness, peace of mind and serenity can be found in so many things, despite the pain in our lives. Something simple in one person's view could be a marvel in another's eyes. Sometimes I see and feel so special, I feel like my heart is going to explode with feelings. Then I remember. I remember to let it flow through me and display unto others. All of a sudden, my stupid and simple life has meaning. Spread your happiness. Because, in the end, that is all that remains of you. View things in the blues and you could find peace of mind. Not only for yourself, but others, too.DONT SAY UM! or LIKE, its gets SO annoying and you are PERFECTLY capable of thinking INSIDE YOUR MIND not out loud. :) good luk though:)Check out this link, it might not help about the Blues, but it could help with the speach process.
http://politics.guardian.co.uk/backbench...How about a little more info? Who will be in the audience? Take your cues from that first. You want to address them and speak to them on a level they will respond to. For example, you wouldn't speak to high school students the same way you would speak to top level professionals. You want to be able to reach your audience so start there. What is the occasion? What's the reason for the dinner? And ask yourself, "What about the Blues? What does it mean to me?" Start with those basic questions. Good luck!Research the subject, vary the content, keep it humorous but NEVER tell a joke. Then Moses came back to them "the loosers" I mean the blues with some good and bad news the good news is; I have brought him down to ten, and the bad news; adultery is inn.
